Description:  Join Jacquie Burian, with over 18 years of furniture restoration experience, to learn the basic techniques of using MMS Milk Paint & Products.  Learn many of the skills, knowledge and “tricks of the trade” that are necessary to create a beautifully updated and restored piece of furniture and will help you avoid some of the most typical DIY disasters that lead to discouragement.  In this introductory class, you will leave equipped with restoration skills that will last you a lifetime and the confidence that will motivate you to continue restoring, updating and transforming furniture for years to come.  Learn how to do small repairs and properly clean & prepare a piece of vintage furniture for paint application.  Learn how and when to properly use our products, including how to mix our paint and when to use the bonding agent, wax puck, hemp oil and/or our waxes for certain finishes.  Learn how to achieve various finishes, including a modern, smooth finish, as well as a distressed and/or primitive/chippy finish.  Learn the importance of drying and curing times when using our products and how this will affect your end result.  Add interest to your piece by learning how to apply a two color distressed finish, a color wash and how to crackle our paint for a unique, custom finish.  Learn the basics of the various “resist” techniques to create an authentically aged, primitive finish or what’s known as the “chippy” look.  And finally, learn how to protect and seal your piece as well as create a color wash or authentically aged finish through using one of our three different waxes and hemp oil.
