Let’s chat about July’s MMSMP Color of the Month. It’s our bright blue, French Enamel

This bright blue gets its inspiration from the tall and long-handled pitchers found in French country homes. It brings to mind a sprawling cloudless sky and pairs well with pops of Mustard Seed Yellow or Lucketts Green.

French Enamel is available in our new 100% natural, eco-friendly formula.

So how do you finish your painted pieces? French Enamel changes colors from raw (no finish) to applying finishes. To see how this blue changes with each finish, take a peek at this photo:

French Enamel and the Farmhouse Collection

French Enamel is a part of the Farmhouse Color Collection. It pairs well with the collection's colors, Dried Lavender, Lucketts Green, Ironstone, Farmhouse White, and Grain Sack.

Now let’s look at a few pieces painted in French Enamel!

A Bright Pop of Color

French Enamel is the perfect blue for adding a pop of color to your space. From coastal to modern styles, French Enamel is a classic choice that will stand the test of time in any home. We love the character and uniqueness of the detailing on this dresser by Malenka Originals. The wood top adds warmth and a natural element to the piece, while the dark knobs complement French Enamel.

You can also soften French Enamel by using MilkWax™ White over the top. Katie from For The Love Creations created this lovely piece.

The Chippy Look

Milk paint is a fantastic choice for creating chippy and distressed furniture that has a vintage feel. Allow French Enamel to chip over your favorite antique pieces! Sand high points and corners for a beautiful distressed look. Apply our MilkCoat™ to help control the chippiness and seal the paint for added durability.

Restoration House refinished and distressed this table to show its original wood tones. This beautiful table, painted in French Enamel, has been given a timeless makeover with some distressing to add rustic character. The distressed areas reveal the natural wood grain beneath the paint, creating a stunning contrast that is sure to catch the eye. The table's distressed edges and corners are particularly striking, adding to its vintage style.

French Enamel as an Accent Color

Don’t want to paint a large piece in French Enamel? French Enamel is a versatile and timeless accent color for any home. A pop of blue can add depth and interest to any room, whether it be painted kitchen chairs, a headboard, or decorative pieces. Whether used in a cottage, farmhouse, or modern home setting, this French Enamel is sure to add charm to your home.
